This is what greeted Ryan when he arrived home from work yesterday at 7 pm. Generally I try to do a quick pick-up before he arrives home. Obviously it did not happen. I feel sort of justified though. I took the twins in for their 18 month check-up at the doctor and was there for 1 hour and 45 minutes. This included 6 shots between the two of them.
The aftermath of shots would leave me exhausted, if keeping them entertained in the little exam room for so long didn't accomplish that already. I did pick up the house a bit during nap time, but by 7 pm that was all undone. To Ryan's everlasting credit, he never says anything about the state of the house when he comes home on days like that. Not even a heavy sigh. After his long day, he rolls up his sleeves and helps me get the munchkins in bed. And then helps clean up the house for another day of shot-aftermath..... Crying. Ugh.
Annie and Maddie are exactly the same height, and within 7 oz of each other in weight. And they got a similar reaction of their left leg shot. So.... on that question of if they are identical... I think maybe yes. They are awfully similar in many aspects to be "just" sisters.

Those exam rooms are difficult to keep little ones entertained in. I couldn't imagine two in one room that long.
I'm sympathizing totally Danae!! I'm happy to hear you survived, even just barely! It drives me nuts that our pediatricians waiting room AND exam room has virtually NOTHING for kids to do. I have to bring my own entertainment for 3 boys, sometimes 4 if I have Eli. It's a nightmare for a mother to have to stay there for so long! Here's a tip: Set the appointment for 1st thing in the morning & you won't have anyone before you. They'll get you in a lot sooner I think (unless your DR has to deliver a baby or something) and then ask the receptionist to let you know if it's going to be more than an hour right?
Don't worry, I have the same problem
Do you see dr. Nealan? Those appointments take way too long!
I actually did have my appt for morning- 10:15 am. And we see a doc in Grandview. I guess it's good to hear that I am not alone in the waiting game at the dr. office...
You are quite amazing Danae!
