The other day, Ryan was asked at school what he would do if our twins were both girls; meaning he would go from being outnumbered 3:1 to 5:1. And yes, that would be a lot of girls, and even I would be afraid of all those emotional hormones during the teenage years. Ryan told the person that we had looked into a couple of homes, and we thought we had decided on a family we'd let take the twins. (Ryan is so good at saying this stuff with a straight face.) The person was appropriately shocked at his reply. Hello! What did they want him to say? That he would never come home anymore? He'd disown us? Scream? Buy a really big motorcycle? The truth is, if we had all girls, we have all the right toys, clothes, routines and we know what to expect. Boys are an unknown to us.
We are happy to welcome whatever Heavenly Father sends our way. But I think Ryan could be excited to have another male in the house. We'll just have to wait and see.
