California

Right after Grandpa Camp, we left for our family vacation to California.  We put our sleepy children in the minivan at 6 am, said our goodbyes to those who were awake at my in-laws, and hit the road.  760 miles later, we hit our limit and decided to get a hotel for the night.  We saw a billboard for a super cheap Motel 6 and thought that was the place for us.  The room was about the size of a large closet, but it appeared the sheets were clean.  We probably could have just pressed on for as much sleep as we got, thanks to some screaming kids next door.

About 1 pm today we arrived at Grandma Skip's house.  Uncle Jon, Aunt Paula, Cara and Colin were there too for their Sunday visit.  Emma was really glad to visit with Cara and Colin again, being the only cousins on Ryan's side that are her age and older.  (Technically, Cara and Colin are Ryan's cousins.)

Before they went home, we joined them for a short trip to the beach.
Emma thought this was a very small sand dollar.
